Million-dollar homes a bargain buy
across Adelaide
ADELAIDE is often touted as one of Australia's cheapest
cities when it comes to buying real estate.
According to RP Data figures, we have just seven suburbs
with median sale prices over $1 million compared to 42 in
Melbourne and more than 200 in Sydney.
What's more, for around the $1 million mark, you can own
a renovated three-bedroom character home on more than 800sq
m in the trendy eastern suburbs just 3km from the CBD.

Adelaide southern suburbs infrastructure
boost
The southern suburbs of Adelaide are set to benefit from
infrastructure expenditure to meet demand from an extra
9000 residences predicted by 2025.
The seaside suburb of Aldinga Beach, for example, has enviable
lifestyle features and will become more accessible for commuters
with the completion of the $407 million duplication of the
southern Expressway and $291 million rail extension to Seaford.

Hot spots:
Cheaper to buy than rent
In Adelaide, Gilles Plains, 10km north-east of the CBD,
tops the list of suburbs where mortgage holders have it
on easy street compared to renters.
Paying off the principal and interest of a variable loan
on a unit, buyers are better off by $227 a month.
Along with Gilles Plains, homeowners in Davoren Park in
the northern suburbs win out, followed by Reynella, Elizabeth
Downs and Elizabeth Vale.
